To transform the women's homeless
shelter into a 5 star restaurant and serve a meal to match. To treat
the women as if they were paying customers, and provide an
environment that is inspiring, cozy, and allow the women to "forget"
for a night they are in a shelter. To also provide every woman and
child with a bag of goodies including spa products for the women and
toys for the kids. |
"Your group is
amazing! I’ve never heard of a group who wanted to treat our guests
as paying customers at a restaurant. That must have made them feel
very special. I am happy to do a write up in our Crisis Ministries
news that will circulate to our Volunteer base. I feel that will be
a good start to raising awareness on what Isabella’s House can do
for the community." Brad Cashman, Volunteer Coordinator for
Crisis Ministries

To create a piece of art which reflects our vision
for world peace and to share that art
with another group who we are matched with. We were matched with a group
in Yorkshire,
England who are called the Healing Arts Group. In April we will send our
art to them and
we will receive the art they created as a group. |

WRITERS MUSE WORKSHOP
APRIL 26, 2008
2:00 PM - 4:00 PM
CRISIS MINISTRIES |
Dakota Walker and Kim Lucia will be
co-facilitating a writing/creativity workshop at the women's shelter
at Crisis Ministries. This workshop will continue every month to
allow the women in the shelter to have something that allows their
creativity to flourish in a situation that probably is very
dampening to it. Through writing it is our goal to give the women a
voice and an outlet that will ultimately lead to healing. |
- Raise at least $300
for books and journals
- I would like to stock their library with
books on writing and creativity as well as give every woman
their own journal to use during the workshops.
